UH drops 100% pay deduction over marking boycott

We are pleased to inform members that after a meeting today between UHUCU Joint Vice President, Ed Blissett, and the Deputy Vice Chancellor of UH, Julie Newlan, she has now stated that UH management will not be deducting 100% of UHUCU members’ wages for taking part in the marking and assessment boycott.

The DVC also confirmed that UH management would not be suspending members for taking part in the marking and assessment boycott or asking them to do their other duties voluntarily.

Instead, the University management will now meet and devise a School by School formula to make wage deductions from those taking part in the boycott that reflects the amount of contractual time they would have spent marking during the boycott.
