Celebrating International Women’s Day with three online talks on Wednesday, 6 March at 2pm
The branch committee is marking International Women’s Day (IWD) this year by hosting three online talks on Wednesday 6 March at 2pm (two days before IWD itself) as follows:
Women and trade unions
- 19th century women and early trade union action – Professor Katrina Navickas
- The British Airways 2003 unofficial strike: when women took the lead – Dr Ed Blissett
- From equal pay to the nurses’ strikes: women’s trade unionism today – Dr Lindsey German
All three speakers are authorities in their respective fields (as well as being UHUCU branch committee officers). Each talk will last 10-15 minutes followed by questions. This will be an inspiring and thought-provoking event. Please attend if you possibly can.
